Activities After School
From beach trips to expert-led museum tours, students have many options every day to satisfy their cultural and intellectual ambitions at UCLA. The Activities Directors transform Los Angeles into a living museum in which students can actively – and safely – engage with the extraordinary energy of the city. They shop in Santa Monica before enjoying a bike ride on the pier, they visit film and television sets in Hollywood, tour studios, admire the homes and views on Mulholland, window-shop on Rodeo Drive, take in a Dodgers game, or celebrity watch in the cafés of Beverly Hills. Students enjoy the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Venice canals, take a tour of Walt Disney Concert Hall, peruse local produce at the Los Angeles Farmers Market, and go for a jog along the Pacific Ocean on one of the many sunny beaches. With its myriad vibrant cultures and plethora of festivals, music, theatre, art, and museum exhibits, Los Angeles offers unsurpassed opportunities for exploration, learning, and adventure.
Summer School at UCLA offers a full program of college visits. Groups of students travel, with program staff, on field trips to Caltech, USC, UC San Diego, and Pepperdine University, among others. Additionally, all students have the option to attend private on-campus sessions we organize with representatives from UCLA and USC.
